19.7x15.8 in ~ Painting, Watercolor, Embroidery
Autumn is a special time and is celebrated in Japan as one of the most spectacular time in nature, as in Spring. The explosion of colour is different in that the hues are warm alongside the subtle hues of violet and blue in the shadows. the contrasting colour combinations is seductive to an artist because the hot and cold compete and seen to complement each other in harmony.
I love to continue the painting on the mount as shown to give a wider perspective and also to enhance the parts in the painting that are embroidered. The textures are sublime and play a major role of perspective as well as interest.
This piece has another mount attached (unpainted) in ivory which brings out the beauty of the opposing colours. It has a hard wood red frame and archival museum glass. Ready to hang.
