This is a view of St Michel's Mount in the winter when the tides were far out. The sun was filtering away in the horizon making an extra ordinary light of subtle hues from the passing of a sunset. The receding sea was leaving behind trails of water in the deep sand bars making zigzagging patterns which took your eye to the amazing light in the horizon. The view from the mount itself was from an angle so high that you could see the old rampart walls of the castle;
The embroidered areas are enhanced in the foreground showing the lace like branches and twigs and include a wonderful contrasting texture on the right hand side.
This piece sits on a window mount acid free on off white 70x50cm and ready to frame.
