On the island of San Servolo, in the Venetian lagoon, to the south east of of San Giorgio Maggiore, where earlier there were housing a monastery of Benedictine monks, later an asylum for the insane, the island is now a home to a museum, the Venice International University and the prestigious International college of Ca' Foscari University.
My husband was taking part in a photography course and I was invited to the vernissage to see the exhibition. At the end of the event, whilst waiting for our vaporetto, the clouds gathered and a storm was brewing. I loved the ray of light and the darkness of the boats attached to the posts. I deliberately used a range of blue to add more drama.
