15.8x11.8 in ~ Painting, Watercolor, Embroidery
Whilst staying north of Normandy, I was attracted by the culmination of wild flowers in a field that was a beauty to behold. The bobbing cornflowers together with a variety of pink star shaped blooms against the textural mass of different greens provided by the carpet of textural leaves, bold or delicate, was a complementary and harmonizing dreamy vision that lends itself to an embroidered water colour; It is a very rare but delightful sight to witness.
The background is diluted with water colour wet into wet, and the embroidery is applied layer by layer with varying thicknesses of thread, in silk or cotton; It is framed and ready to hang in a light green wood to match the composition.
